Canvas - I have access to a variety of sizes but I do favour the larger canvases and I always have a good stock at any one time.
Acrylics - I like to use acrylics, I love the fact that they are so versatile.
Oil - I just love the smell and the shine that these paints give off, the oil paints give my paintings the texture that is required for a great painting. Oils allow me to create some great effects.
Water - Water is an important factor in the crackling effect of my paintings, this is a fundamental element.
Gouche - This material is a recent addition to my kit. This paint has a unique texture when mixed with either water or acrylics. Gouche gives the painting another interesting dimension.
From time to time I also use emulsion, gloss and enamels to achieve a desired effect. I am also not adverse to experimenting with natural materials including kitchen cupboard staples such as flour, sugar, wax, sand and gypsum to achieve a textured effect.
The tools I use to create each piece are not always what most people would consider to be conventional. I never use a brush, however, I do use palette knifes, plaster trowels and paint scrapers.
